I am so sorry you didn't fit in - that was my experience too. When I first left he JWs I joined a volleyball league and it was the first time I fit in anywhere - and even then it was hard to let myself fit in.

I Didn't Belong
by Nihilistic Journey ini remember an art project when i was six years old.
the teacher handed out felt pine trees that we glued to burlap sheets.
everyone then attached little pieces of colorful material to the felt trees.

by EdenOne inread the news here.
the jehovah's witnesses lost their appeal to the supreme court of russia.
bethel to be liquidated.. i bet the gb saw this coming ... here comes the persecution complex paranoia.

@vidiot - I also think it shows extreme arrogance in thinking JWs know what is right for me, you, everyone on the planet. And that they decide who God judges worthy.

Fisherman - shunning is evil because it is an attempt to manipulate someone who isn't doing what you think is best. People need to grow and learn and form their own beliefs. The shunning practiced by JWs is nothing more than cultish control over people's lives.

Why are some that post here JW apologists?
by ctrwtf inmy rant tonight is against the quasi religious apologists that post on this board.
those who at once rail against the jw's then later talk about how "orderly" and "neat" the witnesses are at their conventions.
those who site the benefits of bloodless surgery to some who have the luxury and time to actually make an educated choice, while ignoring the tens of thousands who've died because they happen to be in an accident or succumb to a disease for which there is no other treatment.. i understand the power of cognitive dissonance.

I am here because I left the JWs behind. If I wanted to hear how great they are in their own minds, I would go back. Been there, done that, not going back.

In the paradise JWs will have a standard uniform
by RodrigoGuerreiro inanyone else notice this on the last video of the regional convention 2016?.
frame stills:.
conclusion: it seems that the paradise will not be only the end of wickedness but also the end of the jws typical cheap polyester suits :-p.

All I thought was "Wow there are a lot of women wearing pants in paradise" π. I was surprised because usually all women are shown in skirts. Maybe it's new light.

The bigger picture
by Freeandclear ini've been awake now for a good while.
about a year.
in that year i've done a lot of soul searching and thinking about god and religion etc.... as i'm sure most all of us have who've left this cult.

I totally agree, it was scary to realize that back when I was untangling myself from this cult. I am going to die and so is everyone I know, so I try, like you to make each day the best it can be. π»to life.

Is their a JW site , not official of course ,Identiyfing Apostates on FB , Instagram, etc.on ,social media ?
by smiddy ini`m just wondering , not that it worry`s me too much since i dad myself , but maybe some people would/should be concerned .. is it possible the gb are monitoring who they can identify as apostates on the internet ?.
or am i being paranoid.. how about an over-zealous wannabe elder who wants to make a name for himself by dobbing in some poor brother./sister who stumbles across a site like this on the internet.. maybe it`s not the gb , we need to worry about, maybe it is the r&f members who are spying /watching/monitoring their fellow brothers and sisters to see if they are worth reporting to the elders .. of course with the intention of keeping the congregation clean , while hiding their own transgressions .. dont ask questions outside the box./ dob in your bro, or sister ,who you suspect of impropriety and hope to get brownie points.. smiddy.

I don't care - I won't live in fear for another minute of my life. Being a JW was a life of fear: fear of the end of the world, fear of demons, fear of each other, fear of doing something I shouldn't, fear of not doing something I should. When someone accuses you of something tell them to prove it.

For JW Lurkers
by mrquik inwelcome those jw's who lurk here with the purpose of affirming their religion.
this website was designed for all to express their opinions & beliefs openly.
many exjw's have pursued all different avenues of belief & you may take issue with those that stray too far from your personal ones.

I have found the JW religion to be false in nearly every way. AWatcher - you are saying it's ok to teach falsehoods because it still makes you happy. ( fine by me) but that is no different than any other religious belief system. Plenty of people find Jesus in other religions too.

No Girls Scout Cookies for you!
by independent_tre ineven though, i was raised in a witness home, i never remember hearing that girl scout cookies were a no-no.
and even though i've only been baptized for a few years, i don't remember any specific admonishment of these sweet treats.
but recently at work a jdub coworker made it a point to remind me that jw's do not buy or eat girl scout cookies.

Where I grew up Girl Scout cookies were a big no-no. When I left and finally tried them I fell in love with trefoils! Now I buy them whenever I can.
